Loving Motherhood | Real Motherhood Stories

As my journey through this art of photography and storytelling progresses, I find myself longing to hear and tell stories of motherhood, fatherhood, and life. This wild ride of parenthood is surely a journey for most of us, with experiences shaping and creating who we are as parents.

During sessions we tend to spend a lot of time getting to know each other and talking about parenthood. My hope is to collect more of these stories told to me, and releasing them into the world so others may see and read these words.

This session and these words are from a beautiful client and friend of mine. I first photographed her and her daughter a year ago. She is an amazing mother who loves her daughter fiercely and wholeheartedly. Their bond is absolutely beautiful to witness and capture.

Her motherhood story:

“At the closing on my house, I knew I was expecting and reeling with giddiness on the inside. I had a planned C section and a wonderful pregnancy; I loved being pregnant! I had fun with the shirts and couldn’t stop rubbing my belly. I went for pre natal massage all the time and attended all the classes. We had a beautiful 9lb11oz baby girl on 4/25. She changed my life forever. Brooke Maria has made me blessed enough to be an out and about mom. I love all the children’s places from museums to farms. We stroll and go on walks outside. She’s helped me meet some amazing wonder women mom friends and I’ve been incredibly lucky to have a safety net that is vast. I’m honored to be a stay at home mom every summer vacation from my job at school and vacations.

I never would have guessed that I’d be living my best life extended breastfeeding a 21 month old rocking rink side at Disney on ice, and planning our next adventure to see Elmo. I love being a Mom! Every book read, every wet kiss, every hug, every dance, every mommy moment has been a gift forever. They said don’t blink but I did and it’s divinely glorious to watch her grow every day.”
