CURRENTLY SEEKING PARTICIPANTS
ABOUT THE SERIES:
We tend to paint the experience of motherhood as being something that is beautiful and perfect. I want to break through this facade we have encouraged mothers to be by sharing all the stories of motherhood, the beautiful moments and the struggles, and the stories society may deem as “taboo”.
This series is about rebuilding our "village”. By bringing women and mothers together in a way that binds us through the stories we share. Stories of love, of sadness, of birth, of hope, of loss, of pregnancy, of life.
This series is about being brave. Being vulnerable. Being honest, and open and raw.
Those who choose to share their journey, their story, will be provided with a journal to handwrite their words. Participants will also be photographed, their portrait displayed with their words.
COMMUNITY
As with art, I hope this series evolves into something I never imagined. Right now, my vision is for anyone who contributes to this series or feels they need a “village” that I can create and foster this community of mothers, and give space to openly share vulnerable stories and experiences of motherhood. My intent is to create connection within the act of creating this art, and after, when the art is presented/experienced. I hope you leave this experienced changed, in a positive and moving way. And I hope this series allows those who view it, who may have experienced these thoughts/feelings/stories, that they realize they are not alone on this journey.
HOW WILL THIS SERIES BE PRESENTED?
Being an artist, I hope to present these stories/portraits in an art gallery. I also intend to share this content via social media with it’s own social media accounts strictly for these stories and portraits. Depending on how this series goes, possibly create a book (or series of books) from this.
HAVE A STORY/EXPERIENCE YOU WOULD LIKE TO CONTRIBUTE?
Please fill out the form, and I will respond back to schedule a consultation (to discuss the details of the series even further and schedule session).
