With love after loss, a mother's story | In Home Motherhood Session
As an artist first, I crave deep connection with my clients, and to give my clients images and art that hold deep meaning.
Essentially, I want your images to evoke emotion for you, I want them to be healing for you. I want you to look at your images and feel something a bit deeper.
This session holds so much meaning for this sweet mama and her family, and it evokes emotion from me now as I write this.
I met this mama through a model call. She responded with her story, which tore at my heart.
Her words:
“3 weeks after my daughter was born my dad was diagnosed with inoperable liver cancer. I needed her to push through. 10 days after my dad passed, I got pregnant with my third. Both babies made me push through the awful 6 months of watching my father die, and dealing with his death after.
I lost my uncle march 2021 (4 months or so pregnant with my second) and named my last baby after my uncle & my father.
We ended up moving into my parents house; an old farmhouse, a homestead. My father passed in the very bedroom we’re in. I always feel so humbled and vulnerable in the room, and have such comfort knowing we can continue my fathers dreams here.”
Most of our session resided within the bedroom, the room where her father passed.
The room was full of laughter, smiles, and joy, Her daughter kept us laughing with her silly antics and deep belly laughs. Her son, the baby, melted our hearts with his big cheeked smiles.
I can’t help but feel her father was watching from beyond, smiling at the amazing mama she is, laughing and loving on her sweet babies <3
