Celebrating a Journey | A Breastfeeding Session
I met this sweet mama and her babe one year ago. We met at the wildflower meadow in the spring, and baby girl was almost 4 months old.
She sweetly rested within her mama’s arms as she nursed, small and perfect. Both of them figuring each other out.
A year later, they joined me again for a breastfeeding mini sessions.
Things looked a little different this time; baby girl was running, laughing and playing. We ran through the trails between the wildflowers, splashed within the stream, threw pebbles to watch them ripple, and of course, celebrated their sweet journey.
I love photographing breastfeeding toddlers as they tend to have so much personality as they nurse. Some have little comforting measures, and this sweet girl loved playing with her hair. She would twirl her hair between her fingers as she relaxed in her mother’s arms. There were moments she would smile as she looked up at her mama, and her beautiful mama would smile right back down at her.
I can’t help but think to myself, these are the moments I know I would cherish. Moments I know this mama will cherish.
